Thanks for the positive comments Mark.
Fortunately Mauro has accumulated a lot of good used parts over the years and will buy up any NOS parts that might come up for sale at sensible prices. There is still quite a lot of generic E body stuff out there but anything Hemi specific comes with a hefty price tag ! Mauro even managed to track down some original rocker gills which are not an easy find as they are often damaged.

It’s been a while so a few more photos of the progress to date. The original Mickey Thompson valve covers have now been wrinkle finished. It’s taken some time to track down some of the more elusive parts such as the particular offset booster bracket particular to Hemi cars but we have pretty much gathered everything we need now. The motor and K frame assembly is all complete and detailed and should be fitted in the next week or so and hopefully it’s all downhill from there. Still not made a decision on the wheels yet but we do have a set of original Rocket slot mags from the early seventies which are a possibility.

Just a quick update on progress with the Day Two Hemi Cuda.As you can see the motor is back where it belongs after many years separated from the car. Things are moving on quickly now, with the dash reinstalled and the front and rear glass fitted. Next up is the exhaust system. More pictures to follow.

It looks impressive, but only working in the garage is always dirty hands. How do you deal with this? I found an overview of detergents that help deal with technical dirt. I just haven't decided yet what is better to choose which will be the most effective.

Remember the 70 Charger V code from earlier in the thread, the new owner Jason Keeping has almost finished the restoration and has sent a few photos. Rare car, triple black with a Gator Grain vinyl top. Six pack with a four speed.

Just a couple of photos of the Day Two Hemi Cuda now it’s finished. Just waiting for some better photos and a video. Original Hemi car, correct matching number engine, fender tag, body stampings etc. 500 hp, four speed, Dana with 3.54s, power brakes and power steering. Current wheels are genuine 70’s Rocket mags. Car has headers and a custom built exhaust system. Although not originally optioned thinking about adding a black hockey stick stripe to break up the white.

Very nice indeed. I must admit I like it without any stripes but obviously will look great whatever you do. I'm not a fan of non factory wheels but your wheels are very 'period' and look really good. What a beautiful car!

Hi Pete
Not sure if this particular car would have been optioned with the M26 wheel opening mouldings. Although they were fitted on most Cudas Chrysler deleted them on some Hemi cars during the model year because of tyre interference. The problems were caused by the factory rolled Hemi fenders fitted to the cars.
