Post by Goblinking »

My car has safely made it,been NOVA'd and i have the v55/5 99% filled in,except for 1 thing.
Which tax class do i put the car in?
Its a 1974 318,do i go PLG,VHI or historic?

Historic, as anything over 40 years old is road tax exempt.

Thanks.
Just to be sure,if its registered as historic, will it need a yearly MOT?
I am taking it for an initial mot when the lights have been converted.

A historic vehicle does not require an mot by law although personally I would mot it anyway to avoid any issues insurance wise further down the line. The problem is finding an mot station with a tester that understands older vehicles.

No MOT needed as historic BUT if it is extensively modified it will need an MOT, even though the DVLA tax system does not seem to flag this up.
