1970 barracuda

Hi Guys, Use to be a member many moons ago.i had to sell all my toys needs must and all that.
A friend of mine has just purchased a 1970 barracuda, and wondered if anyone knows this car?
is it okay to show the full reg?

There may be a few 70 Barracudas over here but the first that springs to my mind is this one (EGC554H). Used to be part-owned by Geoff Mitchell.
Is it this one?

That'll be a 69 then. Not a 70.
Looks pretty tidy though.

Oh okay,so was this manufactured in 69 but not registered until 1970?
What would you expect to pay for one of these in fair condition?

It's a 1969 model but could have been manufactured anytime between Aug 68 to July 69.
The H reg is just what was allocated over here or incorrecrly requested by one of the owners

Is this the one that had been for sale on Ebay for a long time, priced very high too?

I don't know,possibly.I haven't even seen it yet just a couple of pics.
I got a message from a friend saying,look what i just bought.
just wondered if anybody knew it.Do you remember how much the one on Ebay was?
In the past iv seen restoration cars at 5k but don't know what the average price for something like this.

Hard to price the RHD cars, they don't have many fans. If it's a nice tidy V8 car I'd say anywhere between 10 to 16K max. I don't think I know that particular car, the reg doesn't ring a bell. Most of the RHD cars I've seen coming up on eBay in recent years have clearly been sitting for years and are unrealistically priced wrecks suitable only for breaking.

That looks like a mean Barracuda! Looks sinister in Black. Very cool.

I think the RHD Mopars are getting a little more love these days. These RHD Barracuda's have a lot of nice parts on them and are built in the US. Will most likely have an 8 3/4" rear end with 3.23 gears and a sure-grip. Heavy duty rear brakes and suspension. Four Pot Kelsey Hayes calipers and discs up front. The front seats even had head-rests.

Being a '69 it almost definitely came with a 318 v8 and a 904 trannie. The RHD steering components can be sourced from Australia and shipping is surprisingly quick and cheap. I replaced every part on my Aussie Charger, including the brakes and suspension and it made a world of difference to my car.

Like the other RHD mopars from out of Australia they have aways been seen as the poor mans American wannabe's. But Aussie car prices have gone through the roof of late and you'll be hard pressed to see a 'cheap' Valiant Charger these days. Tony O (RIP) valued my Charger at £26k two years ago. With the ever increasing prices for American LHD cars RHD cars are being dragged up as well. I think Blues kinda on the money with his valuation though. Id go as far to say £10k-£23k though. A '69 RHD Barracuda 'Vert sold last summer at auction for £15,000 and it looked horrific. (pic below) it also had a 20% buyers premium. So it really sold for £18,000, and the auction site was some obscure site Ive never heard of.

If this Black Barracuda is as clean as it looks and had a good restoration then I cant see why it would not make £25,000, its a rare piece of American Mopar history with under 650 produced in Fastback, Coupe and Convertible models.
