In need of a new 440 Block

Post by SuperBee71 »

Hello fellow mopar men and women, i am in need of a new 440 magnum crate for my 71 super bee, however most the places i have found in the states can't get the motors here for over 9 months ! any advice or sources would go a long way.

Thanks again, stay fast and safe.

I don't know where you're based but you could try Dave Billadeau in Doncaster.
You could send him a Private Message ('pm') on this forum. His username is DaveB.
He does have a website - look up http://www.billadeau-speed.co.uk
According to the website his mobile number is 07791 141170.
That's not to say he isn't fully booked as well.
Hope this helps. Stuart.

All manner of parts are out of stock in the States these days, crate motors are like gold dust I’m led to believe. The situation doesn’t show any signs of improving any time soon, manufacturers still can’t get the raw materials or move stuff around the world easily.

When we got ours from Koffel's Place http://b1heads.com/engines.html in 2017, it took 9 months to receive it after ordering and that was long before Brexit and Covid screwed everything up  They originally said it would be done in 14 weeks :-k

That was built to order so I'm surprised even the 'off the shelf' options from the more popular suppliers are having so much trouble!?

Would a DaveB rebuild on a good 'core' engine be a viable option maybe?? Pete Wiseman may also be able to help with a good engine as he has many contacts and the skill to know if its a good one or not. Just a few options to consider perhaps??

Good luck and all the best :thumbright:
