Group buys

Post by AllKiller »

Just a question..
....Do we, or have we thought about doing group buys for discount on certain Items, that are commonly used or sort after, Tyres, oils, or really anything that more than one person may need...

....Seen this on another site, either a trader offers discount to the members for a group buy, or a member finds or locates some items at a discount..and asks for a number of buyers to come forward and agree to buy, by ading their name to his post, and sending a deposit.

Possible to get discount if say 6 members need B/B mini starters or S/B Air cleaners or whatever.

We could have a Group buy Section for enquiries ??

Whaddya think ?

Think Wil has done this before.

Great idea! I think someone did one a while back on car covers, that went down pretty well as far as I remember...

Yeah it's a good idea, similar to what we've got going on with the ally rads although the discount there comes from Northern direct.

I could work discounts on quantity maybe but would need to know what and how many

Yeah good idea.
Sometimes even if you don't get a group discount you could save on shipping from the US for example. I've enquired to a couple of US places when I've been looking for parts. e.g. 440source does very cheap mini-starters (they are the same SB&BB by the way) and I asked about saving on shipping at least, which you would do.

Going through Neil (wil) would also be a great idea.
In the US a bunch of people saved a good few hundred dollars on Gear Vendors overdrives this way.

:D :D :D
Who knows anything about the Gear Vendors under/overdrive....

.. spoke to them the other day and "maybe" unwittingly the guy on the phone said they were made in England he said they were waiting for a delivery from , I think he said Spicer u.k.
I continued with my enquiry and further in to the conversation he asked where i was from..when i said England he went a litle quiet ( could almost hear him biting his tongue)

Also i read on a site somewhere that the overdrive unit used on the Late Jensens is the same unit....which further makes me believe they are from U.K.

SO, does anyone know anything more about them, and is the one on late Jensens the same ???
Perhaps G.V only make the adaptor casing for other models.

This could be beneficial to us...I hope. 8-)
