Thanks for the comments chaps, couple or three updates since Sunday. Installing the Air Grabber that nearly ended my marriage, worth it though, and fitting up the bulkhead. Going to install the sound insulation next then the wipers and heater this weekend.

Quick update;

Heater went in with little hassle, wiper boxes and shafts all cleaned de-rusted and zinc coated and insulation installed. Moved on to the rear quarterlights, cleaned and greased, what a job that was!

Got some more bits from the painter (yesterday), side markers, vents, rear ears, air cleaner and rear lights. So instead of IACGMOOH, chose to sit with some rubbing alcohol and remove all the vintage overspray from the light lenses then reassemble the lot with new gaskets and bang them on the car. Fitted the ears, side markers and vents to finish the evening off.

Just took the gamble to fit the rear reflective stripe tonight, not something I've had to do before, so mistakes were made, a few bubbles and damage from being coiled up in storage. Had to do it, as it lost its stripe before it came over in '91, luckily there was small remnants on one of the ears that I measured before it was stripped, so it has gone back in its original position. I also managed to fit the new fuel tank, the bloomin s/s straps cut my hands to ribbons, didn't notice until came back indoors.

Headlining booked in for mid December, so will move on to finishing the rear and make a start on running the brake and fuel lines.

Cheers

Dave C

Thats looking fantastic Dave, bloody tight in your Garage by the looks of it? Especially working around that nice fresh paint job, that would panic me.

Carl,

Its not that bad, moved the mirror and side glass now. Never crossed my mind to make an S'bird clone out of this car, but I reckon I could fit both in the garage (tandem style), so a future '70 Satty purchase its not out of the question!

Thankfully not, by the look of it. There's been many a nice RR or GTX lost/spoiled by going that route.... :? ;)

True Rob but I have to admit I would be tempted as a SB or Daytona are my ultimate car and it would be the only way I could have one even though it would be faux.
