It is non Stock, but you can solve a lot of other problems by using a later "K" frame so weight distribution is better and exhausts fit easier and are more available...this moves the engine back but means that more fabrication is needed on the Trans Cross member.....

I have another k member in stock LOL if I go that route but I believe this is and easy fix with the right transmission mount Pete ...the difference between the two I believe is the later mount has one bolt as opposed to two in the 64 mount which you can see in the photos ...

Personally I'd use the later style spool mount and mod the crossmember to suit.

Blue do you think that would be an easy mod?

That is exactly what we are going to do in the '64 Polara, which has the same original set up as your car.

The "K" frame will be swapped out and a Trans cross member fabricated and use the Spool mount made of Urathane.

Yes, should just be a case of chopping the old mount off and welding a couple of "ears" to the crossmember to accept the spool mount. Something like this...

Not a bad match to the new steering wheel ,,,quietly pleased with the result and saved a few quid in the process ..Waiting for some bits from classic industries to reassemble the column ie turn signals electrics and bulkhead gaskets .
