No Pete - it's an early 426 block, casting date 10-10-62.
It was pretty shagged when we got it so it needed cleaning up by 30 thou to get the bores round again.
It was thrown together by the previous owner in the states then shipped over to us (it was in pieces when we went over to see it) so we had some problems getting it to run right from day one.
Paul Knight rebuilt it for us a couple of years after we got it.
Our workshop thread is here http://www.moparuk.com/forums/viewtopic ... sc&start=0
but thanks to a technical glitch on here a few years ago, most of the photos got deleted
I do have a few pics that Paul took when he rebuilt it but not many. I'll look thru them again later this evening. Was there anything in particular you wanted to see?
From the text on p1 in that Workshop thread I see that the 30-over pistons weren't available so they had to be custom made to the size & compression we wanted. We settled on 10.2:1 so we could use unleaded (tho we do use super). I expect you'll be after something between the original 11:1 and 13.5:1

Thanks Rob ... Gathering parts as we speak ..... I will not gut the car until i round up the majority of the parts needed ...I am scared if i gut it now it will be sold of in bits, if i am unable to pull this of ...I am going to replace the rear trunk floor ,thats a bit holey but the floor is almost too good to be true...Tons of welding needed to beef up the chassis and get it caged ,this will be entrusted to Andy Wright of BA racing...Rob i could have sold this car a dozen times to the Swedish racers .....But its got under me skin a bit ,,,we shall see what happens....

Good to see you back Pete, and see some updates! Floors look nice... good job you got your AMD stuff when you did, they've stopped making most of the old stuff now

Re: 64 Plymouth Belvedere post car
I purchased a NOS 64 fender a while back and yesterday it turned up ...its just as described with a small dent in it and some welds popped but no rust .….it is a real Savoy fender with no trim holes .You can see the picture of my wing at present which is either a Fury or Belvedere wing because of trim holes which have as usual rusted out …..Always wonder how this stuff manages not to get used lets hope it fits and there is not a reason while it never got used ...Car is of for a cage and some chassis work in the coming weeks and I will update for those who like the ugly year cars...These wings are rare as they have never been reproduced ...AMD was making the rear quarters but I understand they have stopped making them now …..

'Ugly years' lol
I know some people on here think everything before 1970 is ugly but I reckon the 64 & 65 Plymouth (the last 2 years of the 'ugly' era) are proper handsome cars, and the Savoy, like with all the low-spec uglies look so much better with less trim
