My first

Post by Fieber »

Hi guys

New member here and new Barracuda owner.

While my twenties have been creeping by I've been desperate to buy my first yank. Forever been a massive Mopar fan but they always seemed out of reach. I finally decided to take the plunge while I'm still young (ish) and try and get hold of a second generation Barracuda.

A few months ago I found a fantastic 67 out in the Californian desert and I was ready to bring it over. Unfortunately over the course of a week our economy plummeted and It just became too expensive.

Feeling a little deflated I decided i'd just have to wait untill the exchange rated normalised. Then this RHD 69 appeared just up the road and within my budget. I hadn't been after a RHD but it doesn't offend me as much as it does others. Plus the disc brakes and stiffer suspension on this package are a welcome addition.

It's missing some bits and needs work here and there but overall I love it. Such fun.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome!

Those RHD Bacarudas are great cars. Basically a Formula S with a 318, as I'm sure you know. That looks like a really nice example too.

My first Mopar was a '67 Formula S when I was in my early 20's, that was a lifetime ago, a bit later on I had a RHD '68 as a daily, I love 'em!

Looks lovely. My first Mopar would have been one of those but sadly it was rotten. Still felt like a million dollars driving it on the test run. Good luck with it :thumbright:
