Just caught the end of this new update Si, good work!

Brings back the issues I had with my Polaras leaky heater core a few years back. Took it out (nightmare) took it to a local reputable repair shop (who did a great job) and put it back in. Still leaking!!! In and out 3 or 4 times and to cut a long story short, the shop had replaced the original piece of 5/8" heater hose between the cores with 16mm hose. There is a tiny difference but enough for the jubilee clips to fail to fully tighten the hose up....nightmare!! :D :D :D :D

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

Hi, lovely progress! I'm a sucker for B-Body 70 Charger's and looking to buy one to work on. Any ideas where can I find one in France? Since it's a club dedicated to the muscle cars in Europe I thought maybe someone can help me out here? I can buy one from the US either but the problem is I'm gonna buy villa in Cannes soon and move to France so I don't wanna deal with all the shipping expenses. It would be a very expensive way to purchase the car, I suppose?

RockAuto do a Spectra ali heater core, which was much cheaper than repair, and I was tempted

However, I decided to get the original copper and brass heater core repaired

Took it to B & J Radiators in Farnworth, near Bolton, many thanks for the recommend Ryan

He checked it over and the diagnosis was indeed it was leaking, from multiple places within the core

Only fix was a re-core

It’s a film core and to replace like for like he ordered the core in from Denmark

A couple of weeks later it was done, and he’s made a loverly job of it, far too good to be hidden away in a box for the next 50 years

tested to 30lb, should do the job, the core does seem to be a lot better quality than original, the fins aren’t as flimsy

Before and after …

Very nice indeed, all that work and no one will see it, that's a shame.

And you know it's been done right, no nasty crusty bits hiding away. 8-)

Great work Si, it must be very satisfying knowing that it’s been done properly. Certainly haven’t cut any corners there!

many thanks for the positive comments 8-)

i should say, if i haven't already, aside from the heater core leaking, the hot/cold flap and the cabin/defrost flap were seized, so it did all need stripping down and cleaning anyway
