Could I enter top sportsman just for the Nats ,this way I could get more runs in or is it a seasonal round ?

Perhaps the the downtime was exacerbated by the extra attention to detail needed for the running of much faster cars than we normally see. 30 odd top sportsman plus the pro mods adds up to 40 very fast cars needing special attention to the track. Safety has to be paramount.
It also adds up one hell of a lot of RWYB cars not getting in their runs, which is what the event is meant to be about.
What like VW vans, skylines and evo's?

I like the middle line of your sig though :thumbright:

 True though,Australia are just scrapping their green taxes.
You're so right about the VW van and others on the track, but how can it be policed? Track sign up is through the pod,not Euronats so there is no control on entrants. Strictly speaking perhaps the yellow MK1 Escort shouldn't be ther either, but he's part of Taz racing and running 10s not 18+ plus like the van.

Yes Brian you can. It is a one off and not part of any championship and is open to any door cars running 10.00 or quicker.

Not sure what to vote so I haven't.

I think for me it just comes down to track time for the regular yank owner. As I said on the other thread its my preference to see the average man trying to beat last years times by adding parts and tweeking the timing. Not a winter £75k engine rebuild!

To have both Pro-Mod and Top Sportsman is too much across the whole weekend. So I'd say either one on its own would be better!

If both are required for ££ could it not be that they only run Fri and Sat and then leave Sunday to Show n Shine and RWYB..............or run them all at 10-11am and again at 7pm-8pm leaving the main part of the day as the show was originally intended!

If the POD could then sort dumping out anything that is not American or Australian then that would be perfect!
There are plenty of other weekends which are Jap and Euro/VW orientated!

Just my 2p! :thumbright:

Best thing is for the right people to talk to James or whoever makes the decisions and have a chat about the concerns talked about on this site and see what they can do to help things for next years Nats so perhaps a better balance could be struck for the event.

I'm more into the racing side obviously, and I liked the presence of the faster Race cars, especially Pro-Mod which I thought was a coup for the event, and a plus, however, I also appreciate all nice American road cars and don't mind watching them going up the track in 14 secs or whatever. At the end of the day, thats where I started.....14.0 with the Muzzy....and then it went downhill, just like my bank balance!!!!

What we need is a bracket that we can run in.

Loved watching pro mod and top sportsman at this years event. Maybe if pro cars are running, rwyb runners should have an eye ball over them too, to maybe reduce the likes of rad burps and leaky bits .....

We could have a bracket similar to the dragstalgia SS, maybe restrict it to 10 to 12 sec cars, we could all throw a tenner in the pot which could be split between the winner and runner up, or split evenly amongst remaining competitors in the event of a rain off.

Then you will get the 13 - 15 second car owners complaining ;)

I think it is worth considering :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:

No rules other than no faster than 9.99 or slower than 12.99?

If you run outside either of these parameters you are on the bench and back in RWYB to prevent sand-bagging...........
