NEC Friday pics

Post by RobTwin »

Once we'd had a 'quick chat' with JC, Andy R.Runner, Ben (Classic American), Pete, Steve, Adrian, Jon & Nicola... we had a couple of hours to get around the rest of the show so I squeezed in a few snaps of what caught my eye...

You'll have to excuse the occasionally blue tinge to some of the pics - I bought a new camera a couple of weeks ago and this was its first outing. You can adjust the white balance (apologies for the tech-speak to those not interested!) but all I was looking for to start with was that they weren't too orange, which as we all know by now is the main problem with taking pics at the NEC. Once I noticed how blue they were looking, I tried to keep an eye on how the pic looked on the screen compared to how it looked with the naked eye, and adjusted accordingly. You'll see the difference on the pic of the Citroen SM.

There were some areas where it was so gloomy and orange from the sodium (?) light that it was tricky to get rid of the orange tinge.

Anyhoo, here's few pics....

Just noticed there's a bunch of pics missing.... yes there were supposed to be more!

Must have reached a limit somewhere so I'll try and add them in a separate post...

Thanks one and all, I try my best, which is better than nothing I spose :)

I was thinking of you Matt, when we saw that Land Rover with the humungous wheels :) The Land Rover Fire Engine was on the Land Rover Jaguar stand which also had some tasty Jags round the corner that I only noticed as we were walking away...

Yes Dunc there sure were some nice Interceptors and FFs there 8-)

We had a good chat with a few people from different stands, including a nice lady on the Alvis stand who pointed out that two of the cars were owned by Douglas Bader - WWII flying legend. The convertible even had his trademark pipe in its ashtray :) Well that's what she said, i'm not sure I'd leave it there if it was down to me :?

Nice pics ! Now i am slightly Bananarama! that I couldn't make it.
I'd have that Alfa Montreal all day long - there is a hotel in Bangkok with two parked outside and neither have moved in the 8 years I've been staying there - sadly Thai owner not selling ..... :thumbright:
