MOPAR Euro Nats Thank You

Post by Demon James »

Well, what an awesome weekend :thumbright: :D :D :D

Thanks to all the staff and crew members at Santa Pod for their tireless efforts in giving us a great track to run on.

Weather aside, yes it was a touch more moist than we needed but we had a wicked time socialising as well as racing because of it.

Not sure if anyone heard me on Saturday as I cheered like a school kid when I got my first ever air under both front wheels :D  :D  :D  :D  OK, so it was brief and reportedly only 6 inches ( madam) but it was a wheelie nonetheless :)

Hot air, strong head wind etc meant I was was very unlikely to improve on my times this weekend. However, my 60 ft fell with each run from 1.78 to 1.65 by the end of Saturdays play time.

I had two "opponents" ;) red light against me which hasn't happened before, I didnt realise how much it makes you want to GO GO GO as well but I hung back and didn't join them, it all happens so damn fast  Then it was my turn to red light, I think I was next to one of Duncans cars, was Shelby driving? I appreciated this wasn't going to be a race but I was excited anyway :thumbright: What I wasn't expecting was my first Sportsman Tree    So I rock up........pre stage........stage......happy and ready.........one yellow comes on............yellow goes out..............I go like a scalded cat..........aahhhhhhh poo........what's that red light?     Needless to say, the Cannonball Watts machine flies by me like I'd hit reverse  but what a sight when a fast motor hunts you down and dispenses with you with a casual flick in a few hundredths of a second. Loved everything about that run and learned not to presume the tree

Hope everyone survived the gales, with or without tents and got home safe, roll on next year :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright: James

Cheers, Pete. Yes indeed, the support of an enthusiastic crew can never be taken for granted ( maybe it’s because they know where I am and what I’m up to  )

The positivity of the weekend was immense, one minute I’m racing and having a blast, next I’m using my power tools to rescue neighbouring campers with tents pretending to be paragliders  then absorbing the down time with irreverent garbled chat and beverages :occasion5: :pub: :Absynth:

Plenty of folk I wanted to catch up with more, Mossy, Cannonball, Martin “tyre fryer” and more but the weekend goes faster than my 60 ft’s..........possibly not the best analogy  they are quick, but not THAT quick

Yes mate, shame it was brief. I saw you roll by but I was at full arm stretch, ballroom dancing with my induction cowl hood taking the lead  hence not being able to wave.

Hmmmmm, Dodge Ram :-k certainly wouldn’t struggle getting the mountain bikes to the Lake District :)
