What people don't get is they think the Corvette I bought was a replacement for a Mopar. It wasn't. It was just something else I wanted to do for a while and I can't afford or house more than one "speciality" car at a time. It was fun too. I limited my fiddling about with it to just minor tweaking and it ended up almost a full second faster than the optimistic factory 13.8 quarter mile time.

Now people I know think I have replaced my Corvette with a Jeep. I haven't. A guy in my street asked why swap a Corvette for a Jeep? I didn't. I swapped my daily driver Alfa Romeo for a Jeep. He forgets I had a jeep before the Alfa and another one the car before that.

I have been biding my time. Mopars are so bloody expensive now they are not really worth the money for what they are. But they have been in my blood for so many years I was always going to end up with one again. Eventually.

My life and finances are starting to come together now. I retire in 9 weeks time. With house paid for and other Bananarama! I will be better off. I should be able to scrape enough dosh together next spring to get a decent solid car. Then I can spend my twilight years in my garage covered in oil and cursing. Just like I used to. :-)

Your timing is pretty good Dave, apart from the Mopar exotica prices are their lowest I've seen in the UK for years, especially projects.
