Re: what are you doing while at home?

Post by Russ1971scamp »

Well, i have be back at work now for 3 weeks so haven't be on the site much, but here's a few pictures of what we was doing just before going back, i spent many days finalising with my eldest brandon sorting his mx5....setting up an isolation tent on the green beside the house and wrapping the car....colour changes come along quick in this day and age...... Brandon for a living is a sign maker and before lockdown took a vehicle wrapping course..... well what better car to practise on but his ratty mx5.... i think you'll agree he did a bloody good job...

Even managed last week to get to the Scamp fired her up and took her locally couple of hours driving (40 odd miles with a big smile on my face).....annoyingly she has developed a bloody noisey whine in first gear, sounds like a supercharger until it hits second, fluid level is ok and changes gears ok...... any ideas guys and girls...Front pump?? currently isn't effecting driving the car but noises are never good......

But i will have to park now for a little longer as dont want to cause anymore damage if any, plus work is starting to really take my time.

Hope u all safe

Not a lot Mopar wise, Satellite is stuck in the unit 30 miles away and being 70+ can't retrieve it. However, porting some 906 heads for the fun of it and trying to get my VW beetle back together after 30+ years when I took it offroad for welding, shaving door handles, trim and lowering + convertible conversion. Anyway, the good news was that the '72 1302S engine that last ran in the 80's, started up great after I had turned the Accuspark dizzy offset drive fitting 180, as, the factory had incorrectly installed it ! Little bit more welding required after standing for the last 31 years. Chris

A bit of gardening. Had a large Horse Chestnut fall down about 3 months ago. At least the dry weather means we can get the forklift on the land now.

Like I didn't have enough firewood already.
