When I saw it come up as the file name on the pics I realised just where you were talking about Steve!

As with all these things it ends up a pickin' small world.

Photos of the property look good with some nice features. Left that peace and tranquility for the Midlands myself 20yrs ago now... although Droitwich isn't as noisy as the city so a sort of blessing I guess.

When my Grandfather first moved up to the Western Isles in late 60s he took a 52 Pontiac Starchief, sure your Polara will fit although no doubt oncoming drivers will have a shock
remember playing in that car as a boy when it was parked up on the croft (field) possibly where my interest in yanks originated from.

Congratulations Steve, great way to start the new year. We recall you telling us at the NEC show how you were seriously considering relocating to Scotland; glad you found such a wonderful place to spend your retirement. Liz and I love visiting Scotland so hopefully we have an opportunity to meet up at some point once we return to some sense of normalcy. Happy New Year’s to you! \:D/

Hi Steve, good to see you've finally made the move. Tho it'll be a shame if we don't get to see you at the Pod or at the NEC... do you think you'll still make the trek, when able to?

I know Droitwich well Dave, nice part of the world. We walk quite a bit around Hanbury. I bet that 52 Pontiac was pretty unique on the islands.

My budget wouldn't stretch to a large plot of land with the house but the actual house and location were higher on my list of priorities. I always say I could park my Dodge up in the street and it would still be there long after I have gone. I will look into a garage at the rear but it is a little tight. As the house is listed, I cant build one at the front. I'm sure the car will be fine under a good cover.

I'm not sure about the NEC or the Pod. My time in the Midlands will be limited in future so I'm not thinking that far ahead yet. My kids live in The Midlands but are planning to work abroad as usual after Covid so they will be doing their thing (they are growing up very quickly). Maybe I could coordinate a visit or two.

Robert, you are both very welcome to stay anytime, you have my number so will be easy to organise.

My next project is to get useable internet. I'm outside the 97% coverage every company promises. I will be tapping up the neighbours for advice on that one!
