mot exemption form

Post by gmopar59 »

Anyone know how this works? My MOT is due on 17 may. The attached form says fill in the form and take to post office when taxing vehicle. My tax is up after the MOT. Just not sure if i'll get pulled over for no MOT.

What is the VRN of the Dodge?

You could check it out on some of the DVLA web sites.

Hi pete, i've done that. Just thought i would exempt it this year as we have Gov manned testing centres and some can be a right Bannarama. Failed me on a headlight 2 yrs ago after having them aligned 10 mins before test. Had re tested at another site and they passed it. Just pee'd off with them, you can get someone sympathetic or the complete opposite. no give, just pass or fail, no advisories.

I assume NI is the same as the mainland.

Does your V5c say "Historic Vehicle"?

That is the Key to the MOT requirement.

The easiest way is to go online and tax it when the MOT runs out. It will say your vehicle is over 40 years old and may be MOT exempt, do you want to declare it as Historic? Click yes, that's it.
