Project car

Post by Anonymous »

I am looking out for a project car and i was wondering what sort i should be on the look for. My dad has given me a budget of 3k as he wants me to get one.

The cars I'm interested in are 68 coronet and a 69 charger.

Help would be appreciated from both senior and junior members.

thanks :D

Or go for a 68 and spend the rest of the money left over as a deposit on a 70 :thumbright:

this wasn't meant to start an argument between differant years. I've been looking on the Internet e-bay and stuff and i cant find any cars that are worth looking at.

When my dad was looking there were good ones everywhere I can find nothing. I don't think 3K is enough really for a decent one.

Thanks for the input.

I'd guess that you might find an A body needing work for that money. There's a taxed/moted Dart swinger in Classic American for £4500. 8-)

Yeah, I'd suggest starting with an A body too, you can get a whole lot more car for the money. A basket case B body in your choice of years might pop up for £4K, but for £3K there's often useable Darts or pre-'70 Barracudas about. A 318 powered car can be plenty quick enough too in an A body!

Alternatively there's a fixable '73 Charger in the Ads that I put up for Des, one of the regulars at York Raceway - '71 to '74 Chargers can look very cool :)

Try Duncan Watts (Cannonball) on here. He is honest and wont stitch you up with a lemon.

Yeah I've looked not to keen on the style of the lighting.

I think that I am going to keep looking at the A body's as they are cheaper.

Looks like my dreams of owning a 68 coronet have been put on hold for the moment :(

I'm not to sure on the body types like A and B body's all i know is that A body's are smaller. So could you guys post a list of the cars and years of them so i can have a thorough look at them all.

It sounds bosy i no but I'm really keen on finding a nice looking car.

Thanks :thumbright:

OK so this one is sold and at the moment I'm not aware (although James/Bratfink might be) of any for sale but these are a good starter car
