MMA Event co-ordinator - New Post!

Post by Pete »

MMA Members.

As part of our plans to give members a better service, the recent committee meeting agreed that the MMA needed to put more structure and consistency into its approach towards events that it proposed to attend.

The club wants to give members better visibility of up and coming events in good time so that members can plan and arrange their own busy schedules around some of the activities.

This will include updating the MMA on-line events calendar, ensuring active threads are posted up for all the events through the year, and to act as a general single point of contact.

Therefore, we have created a new (and final as per our constitution) Committee post to oversee events.

The Event co-ordinator role is to compliment, and not replace, the Public Relations role. It will ensure nationwide coverage wherever possible and to allocate a nearby representative of the MMA in specific event locations.

I am very pleased to announce that Steve Bilson, of Polara fame, has kindly agreed to accept the role, initially on a trial basis. Many thanks Steve!

If you are aware of any events within you area, please do not hesitate to contact Steve, either via Personal Message on the Board or via email at:

events@moparuk.com

You can still post up event information according to your own personal needs, so no change there.

Many thanks and good luck to Steve, I am sure you will all wish him well.

Thanks for your words of support men....they are appreciated!

I have to say that I was extremely surprised and flattered when Pete asked me to consider a trial period as events coordinator for our great club. Thank you Pete, and to the committee for their support.

I have said this on more than one occasion......if it wasn't for the MMA and its wealth of knowledgeable, generous and experienced members (many of whom have become great friends), I would not be enjoying my cars as I do and I would not be on the road. This is my opportunity to give something back to the club and I aim to give it my very best!

I am completely new to the organisational side of events and hope you will bear with me while I find my feet. I am planning to speak with experienced members over the next few weeks, and tap into the vast knowledge that is available within the club with a view to getting the most out of each event for our members.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support,

Cheers Steve
