So I'm picking up a Daimler hemi on Monday.
I'd intended Mopar power originally but this has come up at a good price, it's looks to be in great condition and, well it's a HEMI 8-)
I know these motors have a lot of potential, I'd love to go blown / injected/ methanol route. Obviously I have a lot to learn!

Does anyone have any experience of these motors?

Don't know if that's true but they were designed by the same bloke - Edward Turner. Worked for Triumph motorcycles before the war, did a later stint at Daimler.

I appear to have bought a blower...
A Wade R034, should sit nicely on my mini-Hemi!

Yep, Triumph TR6 pistons fit with a rebore and hey up the compression slightly. I'll stick with stock pistons to run the blower.

See, I've been learning ;)

Incidentally, Russ Carpenter in the 80's got a reliable 1400hp from these motors with just a few inexpensive mods like home-made 4-bolt mains, Mini Cooper valve springs... and 75% nitro :headbang:

There were quite a few cars running the little hemi’s back in the day.
My dad had one in a Daimler I think ?
Possibly a Dart ?

I’ll pick his brains , and see what he knows about them. ;)

My mate got "Daimler Dart'ed" for speeding when he was on his Bonneville visiting the Busy Bee Cafe.

He said the whole Boot was filled full of Radio receiver / transmitter....

Yes, what he acheived was amazing, one of British Drag racings true hero cars IMHO. I recall an article in HR&Custom UK where they interviewed him about the engine, including the Triumph pistons etc. Might be worth a look if you haven't see it?
He approached Jaguar(Daimler) about modifying the engine and they told him he'd never get more than 200HP out of it

Yes I have all 5 parts of the article printed off! The information he was willing to give out is amazing.
He ran with stock block, crank, rods & pistons, the only strengthening he did was to make his own 4-bolt mains.

Anyway good luck with the build, sure you will keep us all updated.
