ulez exemption for australian classics

Post by rfullarton »

hello all was looking at the ulez extension in london as a good excuse to get a classic .. anyone got a ford landau for sale !!?

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle

none of the old aussie cars are exempt .. i assume you have to register some more details

but as these cars have british number plates i thought they would automatically qualify as when you go on a mot checker it shows the right details

i just checked the sandman ute mot checker shows it 1977 registered but it is not exempt from ULEZ

mine is exempt under that fact that it is historic i think

but isn't exempt if you use their checker..... Mmmm...think i'd need to go through registration just to have them say Historic

i rarely drive in central london so have not had to pay congestion or anything else for a long time

There was some mention of the ULEZ and classic cars in the FBHVC magazine, can't remember which issue.

Historic vehicles are exempt from congestion and ULEZ zones in London. :thumbright:
