I recall test driving one of these in Crawley, back in the early 80's. Think he wanted £300 for it. It was a bit rusty, so I passed

Not that i'd ever ruin a perfectly good survivor, but i'd love to take one of these to make a Mad Max Interceptor.

XB is the ultimate shape, this XC is nice but the front isb't quite so pretty, unless its on a Cobra.
These Fords are strong money in Aus.
Too valuable to do an interceptor unless you find a rusty dog of one.
There was a superb one over here but that went to Aus with the owner.
There were a few XB's rotting away in Scotland a few years ago.
Sandy Mercer is the Aussie Ford guru in the UK for these. He had a sunroof XA John Goss replica which went back to Aus.

There was a really original and clean XB wagon on UK ebay a few months ago but I missed it - I only saw it mentioned on an Aus site last week.

What did it sell for?
1968 VE Valiant VIP (on road)
1972 CH Chrysler by Chrysler ("project")
1969 VF Valiant VIP (best called "spares")

hi Yes it was uk ebay, and the car was UK registered. More than likely sold new here. Looked to be original paint, and looked like the car had recently come out of long storage.
I think it sold before auction end

OK after much much searching of my browsing history:
Looks like an XA rather than an XB, but how sweet is this ??

A 1973 Ford Fairmont Wagon in the United Kingdom which was on eBay (has since been withdrawn - Details below) Looks like a real Time Machine!! :)
..........................................
1973 Ford Fairmont Wagon. (Seller: delboy4654)
"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

I am advertising this for a friend who is reducing his collection.

This is an Australian right hand drive Ford Fairmont Station Wagon, V8, automatic with power steering, power brakes and electric windows etc.

The car has only done 25,686 miles, It was last used in 1984 and parked up in a garage for the last 34 years.

My friend bought the car from the family of the previous owner, who he knew, after he passed away.

My friend has done some recommissioning work on it including new tyres and brakes and engine check. It will need a final tune up and there is a slight blow on the exhaust, but it runs and drives ok.

The car is in amazing condition for its age, the interior is excellent, carpet, seats and headliner etc all very good but would benefit from a good clean. The exterior is very good and solid although there are a few minor blemishes to the paintwork and small surface rust spots starting to show in places.

With the car is the 'blue' single sheet V5 as issued in 1977 along with a purchase invoice and receipt for the car, in 1977, and some receipts for some of the parts bought recently.

This is a very rare low mileage 'time warp' car, go find another!

Please call me on 07986 911636 for more info or if you want to arrange to view.

The car is at my workplace in Barnston, Essex, CM6 (15 mins east of Stansted airport) and would need to be viewed/collected from there.
