Le Mans Classic.....July 2020 - CANCELLED

Post by Gus »

Hi Guys.....

In the company of a few other blokes and their rattily old vehicles, I will be driving over to the Le Mans classic.

Currently only booked accommodation and ferries.....no tickets or passes...

Once there, any tips on how to meet up and park in the circuit with any other members?

Thanks very much

Are you staying at the track or off site?
There are a few of us booked at different campsites around the track.
I think you need to book in as a private classic car without being part of a club. I know that alot of classics park on the infield on the run off from the track back to the pits.
It would pay to speak to one of the organising companies who book the events, and maybe buy tickets through them as they may have an allocated classic parking section. Otherwise you may get stuck with parking in the public car park.
Travel Destinations are one of the companies that do it.
There are a few MMA members going this year, but not booked as a club as such.

Hi Matt....thanks for the info...

We are staying in a house a short drive from the circuit.

I just wondered if the Oz/Mopar assoc would have a particular rallying spot, or any form of club arrangement for entry tickets etc.

Obviously want to avoid the normal off circuit parking, it would be excellent to meet other members.

No specifics, as the MMA isn't booked as a club, there are just some members who are going, Guy Whitwam and Rob Nauer that I know of. I'm going with the Triumph Club as they book a large campsite.
It would be worth speaking to travel destinations as they can arrange track laps in your classic (at a price!) so therefore they must also be able to get you infield parking. You will need paddock passes as part of your ticket, that is one of the best aspects, strolling round the paddock next to these priceless racing cars.

This explains the clubs and private cars booking. It mnay be easier to deal with Travel Destinations as they are in the UK, whereas this is Le Mans themselves.
