Supplier of UNC and UNF bolts

Post by Pete »

I am after some 5/8" UNC high tensile Bolts, and others in due course. However, most places I have found have limited ranges or you have to buy in large quantities.

Have any members found a source in the UK of nuts and bolts?

Thanks. Pete.

I swear by Clerkenwell Screws, a tiny shop 3 minutes from my flat - if you post a list I can see if they have what you need, or you can call them and I'll pick them up - I don't think they do mail order but I don't mind posting things to you if not. They are usually very reasonable on cost, except that sometimes odd sizes can throw up high prices. Last thing they came up trumps on was slightly longer cap head bolts for the cam fuel pump drive on the slingshot - Real steel could only do standard length for about £10, tried Clerkenwell screws and got 12.9 tensile in the right length for £2.90 for the three

They do a good range of stainless as well.

These guys don't like doing onesy-twosys but they have almost every known bolt ever designed somewhere in the warehouse

Or if you want custom rolled super strength bolts for the highest possible price:

Just done a price comparison between Westfield, Namrick and AHC online and AHC win on price by a fair old bit.... Mind you Wesfields stuff is stainless. AHC way cheap for nuts......

Mind you £72 for a load of nuts and bolts - jeez I'm not letting any of them get kicked around the garage and lost for sure
