Does this mean you're ditching the column shifter all together now? Will be intesting to see what you come up with if that's the case.

Let me know what bits and pieces you're getting rid of - our cars are so similar in o.e spec' that the road you had planned on taking might be the same path as I'm on?

It'll be back out on track soon and there will be plenty more cool photo's like the one above soon enough. :thumbright:
Yeah.
Never liked the column shift to begin with, so happy to loose it.

I'll put up a sale thread next week, so keep an eye out. Need to dig through and see what i have/want to let go first. :thumbright:

I picked the car up last Thursday after all the work had been completed. Shifter was all in and working.

So after 8 years the car is now a floor shift car. What i will say is that i only grabbed the column 4 times in 5 mins when moving the car around.........that may take some time to get used to.

The trans.........
Quite simply one of the best mod to date. Its probably the most mechanically unsympathetic thing ive ever had. The term banging gears is spot on, as the thud it makes on every change is quite something.
Being reverse manual feels quite normal already.

Whilst the car was in for the trans work i wanted to try to sort the misfire at 3500rpm. The first thing i ever bought for the car was the HEI conversion kit back in 2011. Id just never got round to fitting.

So out with the old coil and in with the new. Put on an old Mopar Chrome box to begin with just to test.

Ive also had what i believed to be a stuck lifter on the drivers side.
On first start up after it got oil pressure that has now dissapeared.
The breakup at 3500rpm has also gone.

Whilst doing some research, i dropped upon a thread on one of the american forums and the FBO unit. Exactly the same issue.

Turns out that when the ignition module is fubar'd it can actually give those symptoms.

So the car is now ready for the NATS. Few minor items to solve, but im really looking forward to what change the working trans and ignition will make to the 1/4 times.

So 17.69 at 75 to beat. 8-)
