Brake fluid

I really struggled with bleeding the long rear brake and clutch hoses last time.

To the point it was officially the worse job on the bike.

I was told to use automec Dot 5 silicon brake fluid by and old grey man. I heave learnt over the years there normally right and I should stop arguing and listen

Originally design for the US Military so that it could sit in war ready vehicles and have an endless life span and never required replacement. US Military standardised on silicone brake fluid in 1981. After 1981 silicone fluid became a NATO standard

- NATO H-547 :geek:

Well I’m sold I can’t believe it. It made bleeding soooooo much easier. I honestly can’t believe the difference. I will never use any other brake fluid again amazing.

Finally found the leak a few tiny pin holes in my welding internally in the intake Mainfold....

As this was so close to the heat Exchanger i decided best to call in the pro and my mate came around to Cut it open and welding it back up.

Hopefully this should work now.

The first person to patent a carburetor for use in a petroleum engine was Siegfried Marcus with his 6 July 1872 patent for a device that mixes fuel with air. Ze germans

While I agree a 650 double pumper would be nice this is 2021 boys :rr:

Our bike has 4x Big injectors these injectors are sent off and "characterization" takes place

This means they are tested under every possible pressure and voltage and their performance is written into a characterization look-up table that the ECU can reference.

@12v and 45psi fuel rail pressure = 1500cc a min
@12.1v and 45psi = 1501cc a min
@12v and 45.1psi = 1502cc a min
etc etc.

This look-up table is loaded into the ECU with its matching injectors. The Ecu then continually "looks up" how much fuel will get squirted in based on pressure and voltage fluctuation.

We place a lambda sensor in the exhaust pipe tell the ECU what target lambda we want to achieve and the ECU works it all out.
It knows the fuel pressure it knows the voltage it knows the flow it knows the lambda

:thumbright:

8-[ Full closed-loop computer-controlled mixture control 8-[

: note the double O-rings on the base of the injector and the taller pockets welded in the inlet manifold.

This is to help sealing when 1.21 gigawatts of turbo pressure is trying to pop the injectors out :thumbright:

Cut the plenum up and will make a standard intake with the Bosch Drive by the wire throttle body.

Nothing fancy just to work at this point and get down the track

Given how much we are all in awe of what you are doing here I really hesitate to offer anything with any kind of authority as it is totally different to my own engineering background (civil). However, it does remind me of something that I do know about.

That's a really wide splay to get to the outer inlets. Much like a really wide panorama being taken on a flat plane camera (aspect ratios 3+:1). In that situation you need to play with the light so that the same amount gets to the outer edge of the film as gets to the middle by using a filter that is darker on the centre spot and graduates out getting lighter as it goes (i.e. stops some of the light going straight through the middle of the lens to let the rays travelling further at the outer edges have a matching effect).

I don't know if what amount to pressurised boxes also work along those lines but it sort of seems analogous to my mind and might explain some of the channel type forms that you get in inlet manifolds and the like to swirl the fuel and air around. Given that analysis of that sort of thing is going to be quite a task - what could be an option if it is analogous (and as I said I'm far from certain on this) would be a sort of reverse collector arrangement that you get on headers - similarly trying to keep pathways an equal length???

This could all just be the ramblings of a fool but hopefully it makes some kind of sense!

As with everyone else - really do admire what you are doing and cannot describe how much in awe I am of what you are doind and how much I look forward to seeing this develop.

Glad you enjoying the madness

You are correct one of the hardest parts is ensuring each cylinder gets the same mass flow.

This is a great vid of a guy that sticks his little chap in an intake :shock:
