Took the bike to nats this weekend
Having real issues with clutches and was going across the line in 3rd so plan is to lower the gear ratio get some new clutches and do some test launches at home.
Best Run of the weekend was a 10.9 sec 1/4 @ 119 Mph

Re: Fifty shades of Jade
Going back to the bending your neck thing to see where you're going, had you considered a hump/bump type raised panel to rest your chest on so you can be more relaxed? In the pics you look to be having to hold your upper body up to get your neck at an angle suitable to see. A second advantage would be the drag created by the scoop shape your chest makes when in that position would be filled helping aerodynamics too.

Re: Fifty shades of Jade
So the new front end is taking shape !
And you are totally correct I'm not comfortable on the bike but the plan is run as is with side pegs and legs outside build a new front end then cut it up in winter.
Plan is lay directly on the floor pan with arms around front wheel and handles bars Infront of wheel chin on top of wheel
I need track time and have learnt so much running this low power uncomfortable set up.
New tyre is a front nose wheel from a jet rated to 330mph with a landing weight of 4 tones and 100psi So should work...it's also alot narrower which will help stability.
I have been having real issues with holding the bike on the line so have a 6 pot caliper and a custom 285mm disk !
This size disk will also now comply with all FIA/FIM/ACU/ rules and regulations

Re: Fifty shades of Jade
So got the bike back from Euronats and found that due to sliding it up the ramp into van I had damaged the sump.
So fitted a billet sump with swinging pick up this will also give me the ability to have a turbo drain line plumbed to it

Lift works well and playing with the idea of how best to lift it on to trestles.
Working on some sort of wheeled trolley that the bike will sit on and be loaded and unloaded into van on.

Yes that appears to pick it up good
What about a wheel skate under each wheel for loading

My plan is to winch the trolly up the van with a small electric winch so not sure wheel dollies would work but good idea !

Re: Fifty shades of Jade
Lots going on !
New style of clutch fitted which centrifugal Engaged with tyre speed and not engine speed.
I have cut the Gearing in half by cutting the front sprocket down from 16 teeth to 13 also made some much larger bearing holder with C clips as the support bearings started to come out !
Ended up at Lancaster raceway yesterday for some testing got in 8 runs with a new PB of 10.8sec 1/4 god this hard. The track was not like pod and I was spinning up most of the track !! Tyre not clutch !
Great to see some Mopar’s there showing us how it’s done
