Anton made me some of them a few years ago, mine have 3 holes.

Started on the engine rebuild, block painted, crankshaft and camshaft fitted, pistons with new rings refitted and a dual roller set instead of a silent chain. Justin (Dart Vader) helped me with a replacement front cover as the original one was quite corroded.
No current photos of the shell but Stephen has fitted the final floor pan and started applying some body filler to the rear quarters.

Little bit more progress, heads on, valve gear in and core plugs fitted.
Currently cleaning up the intake manifold for painting blimey that is a heavy lump. Not got around to fitting the front cover as I had ordered the wrong water pump, I've been ordering engine parts for a 1965 Dart 273 as its close to the date of my block and I forgot my 73 Charger bottom hose is on the off side #-o
New pump has arrived so should have it done this coming week.

I would check your TDC mark on the Damper, I think that's an early engine (timing mark on the pass side) and you've fitted a later cover (timing mark on the drivers side). No problem with that apart from the mark on the damper will be in the wrong place so you need to re mark it to suit.

Cheers Blue :thumbright:
I thought there was something odd when checking the damper mark before fitting the cover, Cam & Crank dots in line and the Damper was 90* out.
Checked, and I hadn't assembled anything wrong so gathered it was what it was as my original cover has no visible timing marks.
Better remark, then redo the valve lash. Speaking of which, what should solid lifters be set at the measurement I found was 16thou?

Edit just found this on moparts for 64 273 " .013I and .023EX."

I believe it's 13 & 21 hot. Another thing, if you've changed from an iron to an aluminium pump the pulleys will no longer line up as they are different lengths.

Cheers :thumbright:

I'll add a couple of thou to the hot settings as its cold. The pump that came off was an aluminium so hopefully it will all work out.

Not much further on, but spark plugs, carb strip and rebuild.
On a side note I am in need of the distributor cap retaining springs/clips if anyone has a couple going spare.
