After being quoted anything from £900.00 upto a p*** taking £3750.00 +vat and a 3 month wait!!!! :banghead:

I eventually was recommended to Colonnade's of Wembley and what a great job they did :salute: :salute:

Wow that looks like a great job. And what a focal point the front bumper is on a '71.
Do you mind me asking what they charged for the 2 bumpers?
nearer the £900 i'd hope, i think when we had a our 69 Satellite bumpers replated it was £300 each. (or total?) That was back around 1990!!

The chroming process is pretty straight forward - After my grandad sold his plating business I saw him do odd jobs at home using the grassbox of a lawnmower for a tank.
Just the same as paint, though, the key to the quality of finish is all in the prep that goes on before hand.

Decided to fit the engine to the K-frame and put it all in from underneath so I set it up un a heavy duty trolley and supported it with some 4 x 2.

I had to strap the car to the ramp as I had no weight in the front and tried to tip as I had already fitted the rear axle !!! :shock: #-o
