I'm just looking at doing the same job re-furb the old one or aftermarket new??? Think I might just stick with the original for now !

I'd strip and clean your original part, I would have done the same had I not had to change it due to the disc brake conversion.

Engine is pretty much ready to go back in, could really do with fitting the new distribution block first, there will be pipework to alter no doubt...

Thank you for the kind comments! Engines all done, just need to prime it, add plugs and 'stributor and it can go in. So what we have here is .60 over 360 which comes out at 371 by my reckoning, lightly ported heads and a Hughes whiplash cam and kit. I have a matching Hughes 2500 stall convertor to go in the box with a B&M flex plate to round it off. Glad it's nearly done I'm virtually broke physically as well as monetarily, I never intended to take this much on in one go, it's all AMD's fault with their 7 months and then nothing lead time....

Blimey, well that means a lot! What I do isn't perfect I'm under no illusion about that, but I do want to pass on what knowledge I've gained over the years. Hopefully people will read this and think if this bloke can do it so can I, or even do it better for me that's what forums are about, they have replaced books and magazines which is what I relied on when I started out.

Replacement distribution block arrived yesterday so I whacked in on sharpish. Left overnight it doesn't seem to be leaking so I better stop buggering about and chuck the engine back in. How many hours now till the Nats?
