Re: Blue's Barracuda
Progress has been slow of late but the end is in sight. The tti headers offer great ground clearance but jeezus does it get busy around the starter motor area. Had to make new cooler lines to clear, mod the kick down linkage and get creative with the shifter cable. Cable and cooler lines have heatproof sleeving fitted as they run so close to the headers. Mocked up the tti system, it fits very well but all needs trimming so takes a while to do, clamped the new rear pan in place to make sure the tips end up in the right place when that eventually gets changed. Will take the system in on Monday to get aluminium sprayed before final fit. Just a few odds and sods to do before I can fire it up and I should be back on the road...

Still working my way through the snagging list which is proving very slow work, having the day off Tomorrow to try and make some headway....

Yep the dreaded snagging list always takes forever,I’m doing the exact same with the cuda.
To me it’s the difference between right and wrong,
And not many people neither have the time or the desire to get it right,
It’s the difference between a good/bad car.
Be patient blue..
Richard.

Amazing work! The car looks the business!
Re: Blue's Barracuda
Reasonable progress, Indicators working, aftermarket temp gauge working, oil leak cause detected and parts obtained to fix it Tomorrow. Need to sort out why none of the stock instruments work anymore and get a firmer brake pedal then I can drive it and see what that throws up...

Re: Blue's Barracuda
Oil leak fixed, stock pressed metal oil filter plate wouldn't seal to the block, it's a known small block issue. The folks at Canton racing products make a billet replacement which is 1/4" thick, O ringed and with larger ports for increased oil flow, part no. is 22-575. Luckily I had one in stock ready for my 408 build so I fitted that this morning, job done. When I looked for a replacement I noticed they are listing them as discontinued on eBay, others including Summit and Jegs have them. If you run a small block I'd seriously consider grabbing one now while you can.

Re: Blue's Barracuda
I have a genuine numbers matching '69 340 formula S which will ( I swear) be ready by Christmas unless I die or run out of money. It came from California and apart from a dent in the rear (which meant renewing the trunk panel trim etc) and repairing very slightly rough quarter panels the car was rust free.
Luckily I bought it and shipped it over just before the dreaded BREXIT vote so that saved some money, but since then the cost has been horrendous.
It is the same colour as yours (Alpine White) and has had £8,500 worth of bodywork and paint plus another £4,000 of complete engine work. It is a well documented fact that MOPAR cars are far and away the most expensive to restore due to the limited numbers made. I was lucky to find this one and funnily enough when I googled '69 barracuda 340 formula S this one came up on google images.
I will post some pics of the work in progress as it is at the moment.
I am looking for some A body parts. Do you know of any donor parts cars?
Cheers, Felix

Re: Blue's Barracuda
A body Parts cars are a rare thing in the UK these days Felix, pretty much everything gets "fixed up" and sold on. Even when stuff comes up for sale thats really only fit for parting out it's way too expensive. What sort of stuff are you looking for?

Pulled the old beater out into the daylight Today for the first time in a year, pretty happy with how it's turning out.
