Re: Cortina MK3 V8 MOPAR
First multiple tacks, then small seam welds around 40mm long.
As a full weld could course miss alignment due to the welding pulling the tube. So I welded one side then the other filling in bit by bit

Cheers Dave
So I bought a Dodge 10.5 clutch and a Mustang V8 10.5 plate Happy days,
Its a bit close in the centre, but what you can see is a Dart 10.5 flywheel with dodge pressure plate with a Mustangs friction plate

Re: Cortina MK3 V8 MOPAR
I found out that if I rotate the original engine mounts they face down to the cross member

Re: Cortina MK3 V8 MOPAR
Been busy with the gearbox crossmember, but todays job was the sump.
After mutch measuring , I cut out a section so it fits nice away from the engine crossmember.
First picture is how it was!!

Re: Cortina MK3 V8 MOPAR
Well I think your still watching?
So the latest is
As said before this is not going to be a resto (:)) so custom is the name if the game.
Lots of time on the car with the lockdown, been working on the cooling side and front panel.
Ive gone for a nissan 300ZX turbo rad, but with the engine being quite long I have not gone for the usually cut out front panel.Ive decided to put the rad under the front panel.
This means that to rad now is lower than the front valance . So starts the custom work, vwala? to my stores ,,and found a MK1 escort grill, chopped it down
Not finnished yet, but you get the idea.
A bit like the new'er cars with the inter/cooler sticking out

Re: Cortina MK3 V8 MOPAR
Fantastic work, but watch out for reduced sump capacity - that is what saw off the 396ci BB motor in my '57 Che*y....
