Just sat and read through all of this thread...absolutely fantastic Will. Really impressive work as always. Will be interested to see how the welding around the roof goes. We did this area on a friends D100 that had rotted in the same place. Its an awkward profile and we eventually did it in three separate profiles and welded them together to make the lip etc. Not a problem with your welding skills but tested mine.

I personally think black would be nice but sure whatever you do will look ace. Difficult to find a colour that compliments the gold other than black or white in my mind but I know nothing about paint etc.

Im with Pete, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE support us at the NEC this year...its great fun!! :thumbright:

Next up Electrics!

The build is pretty simple to build and truck that would withstand an electromagnetic pulse 50 kV/m+ :reindeer: EMP zombies apocalypse etc

Same as the Charger the ability to have the polish jet-wash the lot inside dash engine bay you name it the lot

Due to this 100% of all mission-critical systems will be as basic as they can with Zero transistor-based Electrical systems.

All switches and Wires will be overrated and good old-fashioned contactors used in place of relays.

The non-critical system will use tastest flashy bling bling tec but plug and play to old school like headlights etc if required

Welded a cage to underside of dash this will hold a sheet of 20mm plastic (old lab bench top cut up)

To this sheet all electronic will be mounted

The biggest pain with the charger is working on all the electrics under the dash.

The plan with the truck is the panel will be design to come out with a long loom allowing it to be placed on the seats and worked on for upgrades.

I'd probably use something other than cardboard for mounting electrics :D

Good idea !

I cut up some very hard plastic (lab bench worktop)

Forgot how much of a mess a router makes and what a Versatile tool it is.
