got a call from Mark asking us to come and have a look at the car . we wasn't sure if this was good news or bad . pulled into his yard and the cars standing out side . a very dull dark day but the paint looked amazing . had a good look round and very pleased . looks wet like he's only just finished but Mark insisted it still needs buffing

we never had a drive shaft ,Dave Biilladeau helped us out with one and a spear set of dash clocks

new rear light lenses, new filler cap and chrome dish, putting the old ones back on just wouldn't do

fitting the new rear disc was easy ,the only problem is the emergency brake cables that came with the kit are to short . drivers side is 2"to short and the passenger side is the same length cable so it only reaches the center of the car , a quick look on the net and found the company in Sutton In Ashfield called CABLE TEC ( 01623440398 ) that can do made the measure cables
back window in and more chrome trim

when we purchased the car it came with a set of legendary tan seat covers , door cards and carpet . the seat foam had turned to dust so we had to get new.
gave the seats and covers to a friend how upholsters for a living

This is going to be a great car :thumbright:
Getting a few bits of new chrome is the start of a slippery slope as you've found. All the old parts that were previously considered 'good' suddenly get to look quite shoddy. At least it's a car with good parts support for replacements.
Keep up the good work, Neil.

we went the our local paint suppler to look at some paint cards and walked away with 3 maybes. on the way back dad said he thinks we had some blue in the garage similar to what we had picked out . got back and dug out this tin of blue paint and give it a good stir , sprayed it on the bottom of the car and that's the color we stuck with just because we had 5 ltr's of the stuff already to hand . it turned out to be blood expensive paint when we went to get some more . yes it is a modern color which some people will disagree with ,but then the charger didn't come with 4 wheel disc brakes ,nor a 440 with that 6 pack mounted on top

with the dash all stripped out time to remove the clocks and wiring ,took them home with me so i had something to play with between visits to dads ,
checked the wires over and found the bulkhead connector was showing signs of wires getting hot and melting the plastic so decided to order a new bulkhead connector and new wire terminals . soldered on the new terminals to make sure of a good connection

, new bulbs and fuses and rap the harness
the clocks looked a bit grubby so ordered a set of transfers for the faces , fiddly job but worth the effort .
the speedo would stick when tested so the spear out of the clocks we got from Dave was put to use

the clock was not working ( surprise surprise ) striped that down and got i moving

a new head light switch and dome switch , spray the fascia black and with a steady hand got round the edge of the clocks with some liquid chrome paint pens
