Well I say it's done, I still need to do up inside the rear arches and up over the back axle, but that can be a job for the winter. The stainless sill trims are beaten to hell, I guess I'll have to replace those one day.
Having seen the price of a new shifter slide, I found some 1mm thick black plastic and made one. The console is back together and ready to fit, albeit temporarily until it has to come back out when I sort some carpet.

I've also done taken out all the interior chrome window surrounds and polished them up, they all looked pretty rusty, but all but one cleaned up nicely. After my sewing lesson on the steering wheel, I also re-stitched the sun visors as the original stitching had rotted and they were coming apart.
Having seen the price of floor bung kits from the states, I've sourced most of them cheaply over here, all except the 44mm / 1-3/4" ones, which is a size nobody seems to stock. The only ones I've found are from a company in Australia, fortunately just up the road from a mate of mine, so I'm hoping he can bag some and send them over for me. He owes me, last time I went out to Aus I had to buy a huge suitcase from the charity shop to take over all the MG parts he'd been ordering and having sent to my office...
