Ok, quick update. Most will see this on FB, but it’s nice to share progress for the collective inspiration.
Leather bucket seats now fitted and very comfy, sliders all working. Rear carpet in and how much fun finding the seat bracket holes...
New ali rad plumbed inc trans cooler, all oil cleaned off after the pressure gauge line blew last month.
Fired up and ran and inked first time. 70lbs of cold oil pressure and no indication of the motor getting hot this time.
Motor smells so clean and feels good. Pretty pleased after all the fettling, cleaning and planning :(
Not sure how to add video, so didnt.

What did you pull the seats out of?
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Yes, suprised about the seats myself. I did find the dimensions for original bucket seats online and it’s not that different except modern seats have more side cushion.

Haven’t posted here in months so should update. Some of my paranoid ranting has been on FB sites, but in sum.
I like the car.
Finally.
It’s been a bastad at times.
If you ever buy a barn find. Don’t. Unless you have much greater skills/budget than me and I humbly defer to those who do.
Anyway, car is now up and running, much fettling of suspension, Petronix ignition, much electrical safety work and a bunch more stuff. PO hasn’t even bolted up the trans mount so had concerning vibrations.
All now replaced and I drove it at highway speeds today for the first time and it was really smooth. Now going to upgrade with Scarebird disc kit Which I have. Add a sway bar and a Holley carb and should be out and about even more.
