I think the guide price may be somewhat optimistic.

Matt, I thought that the air grabber wasn't offered as an option on Superbirds. This car had a hood fitted that was taken from a 70 Roadrunner that was being broken as it was so rotten. It forms part of the discussion in this old thread on here from about 10 years ago. I think Andy R.RUNNER knows more about this car.
Here's a link to the relevant page of the old thread.

I'm sure you're right about that being Andys white Superbird in the old pictures in the Advert.

Believe it or not the air grabber hood went to the States. I remember crating it up with Pete Jordan and arranging to have it shipped over there. We got to know Blondie pretty well as we used to store some cars in his unit. The Superbird was missing it’s fender tag if I remember correctly. The air grabber hood ended up on a Superbird in the States and I think it sold for around a thousand dollars, this would have been in the late nineties.

Interesting, Martin.

Do you have any pictures of the car back in the day?

Almost certainly somewhere Pete. One day I will have to go through all my stuff ! I do remember Blondie’s Superbird having had a bodyshop type restoration typical of the late eighties, early nineties, probably where the fender tag went missing. The carpets had been made by a trim shop, even carpeted the trunk. I seem to remember fitting a clutch in the car.

It appears the Anglia Car Auction is still going ahead this weekend but remotely only, no attendance.
Superbird is lot 194 which will be on Sunday 8th.

They have put a video of it running on the listing now.

Anyone want to guess what it gets bids to ?
More chance of me been 10 stone than that car making the action estimate, remember theres 8 percent on top of hammer price
But you never know
I doubt it will break the 80 k mark unless there bouncing the bids
Anybody else higher or lower ???

If there was exposure in the US that could be a game changer, maybe? Germans and Sweds getting hot under the collar. I'll put a tenner on over £80k. :D

I’ve often wondered whether they are worth more in the states, the advertised prices over there seem to indicate it.

I’ll have one at some point, just gotta keep grafting,I’ll go with £75k plus premium.
