Most people do rattle can them to be honest, and that seems to be about the average price complete 440s fetch these days.

Just looked very slapdash to me , the overspray etc, I guessed this must be the going rate as I can only find 318 motors , a 440 recently went on eBay for £720. It was starting bids of £450 I think ?

the factory paint job included overspray all over the place as well like only half way up the manifold runners certain bolts sprayed other bits of kit bolted on afterwards.

care and attention for that mirror smooth finish was not part of the plan

find out what is inside. sometimes the grotty looking ones are the best.

i got of fossil out of a breakers yard. vrigin bore looks like its done about 50K in its life based on what it looked like it would never have sold on ebay.. ever..... so you can forgive a bloke who tries to polish his eermmm..... i'll say.... sows ear, Provided he is upfront about what is inside

but mine was a £150 motor and trans a motor that at the time i was the only customer in the UK who would ever want it... it was basically £75 for his labour and forklift and £75 for what looked like a rusty corroded fossil

power hose and a load of parafin later a diamond in the rough but hey i like a 6 cylinder so i pay 6 cylinder prices and take a 6 cylinder risk

have you tried having a chat with Duncan, cannonball

ping him a IM and see if he has anything and if he doesn't, but he gets something in... no harm in you having registered interest.

or have a chat with Ron Fenton STS imports about shipping and see if you an find a motor in California.

ive only ever shipped a motor from Oz cling filmed onto a pallet..but it wasn't as eye wateringly expensive as you would have expected.
local courier local shipper paid in $$$. arranging from here would have cost the same in £££ and the exchange rate was well in my favour
i'd rather pay import duty and VAt on the $$$ value

it was however worse than described and hence cost more than anticipated to rebuild once id done that i found 2 over here in much better condition, so to be honest you can't really win either way. there will always be something a bit wrong with it.. otherwise it would be in a car being used

Is your Barracuda LHD or RHD?

If it is a RHD one you will be in a world of pain trying to fit an R/B - though it is possible.

Just a thought....

Do you mean that the Inner Fenders were cut for "Fenderwell" Headers?

If so, then it really limits front tyre size and steering lock.... under-floor headers are a better bet but then you have a struggle with Torsion bars... all good fun!
