Don`t ...... my Dad brought a `67 390ci R code Cougar XR7 in `87 for £350. Four years later i begged him not to sell it for £300.....he said he had had his fun
If i look confused...........i probably am.

The only cars that fetched big money them, were hemi or 440 6 powered B or E bodies and suprisingly Vettes. Fords and chevies were peanuts, i had 2 cougars, 2 mustangs, a galaxy, numerous chevies and they were all cheap but i couldn't afford a decent big block E or B body, that's why i bought the Dart but i dont regret it one bit. That little 340 opened a can of whoopass on quite a few BB's and it handled well with the GTS package.
The 390 was renowned for being a boat anchor, although a friend took me out in his 428 cobra jet and that was quick.

I drove that car to a Dealer in the old Kent Road after about 6 mnths of owning it......did a straight chop for the K code '65 Muzzy Hi-Po, guy didn't know what he had :D
_______

No Gary, that was the only car I never took down the track....all I remember is that the 230hp 318 would spin its std. rears when I stomped on it from traffic lights, so I put the N50x15's on it, it only chirped them after that and took off. But I reckon you were looking at mid to high 15's with it on the N50's...and dead stock motor.

Les I had the dash out of it when Gary Mills smashed the rear quarter he scrapped it you would have restore it now. Could have had Armets superbird for £2400 and my 68 coronet didn't have the money sold the coronet for £500 and bought a 69 Dart GTS for £350 those were the days

Yes it was easy peasy in those days, everything you ever wanted was for the taking, selling was a breeze as was buying.......I sold the K Code muzzy in a week to buy the '71 340, and sold that in even less time to buy the '69 'Cuda......those were indeed the days!!
