Well it took him 9 years to build that one. Hopefully I can beat that with my little plastic kit. :)

Really coming along well Dave. Is it worth photo copying the decals then laminating the copied sheet. Then stick some masking film over the sheet and cut around the decal really carefully to make a stencil of it. Place the stencil on the model and spray it gloss. Remove the stencil and you have a little gloss area to stick the decal on?

Great work Dave....its a fantastic project and will be stunning when youve finished it :thumbright:

My airbrush isn't spraying very well. I need to strip and clean it and currently can't be bothered. :)

Have you considered using acrylic in a dry brush?

There are just too many ways to hang a monkey.

I just recently bought some acrylic paint to experiment with.

There are no longer any model shops in Newcastle. I have to go further afield. It's a pain.

I have found that just rubbing the gloss black down with 2000 grit paper gives it a dusty looking matt finish pretty much like the real thing.

I have a cold and cough that is keeping me (and Diana) awake at nights. So keeping warm and out of the loft for now.

BTW the model I was building is still not finished.

I was doing well with the painting last winter but had an accident and snapped off one of the tailfins.
I repaired it and then dropped the bugger and snapped it off again.

Decided to walk away from it and try again this coming winter.

I'll get there eventually....
