All Tagged up and nowhere to go....

Post by Pete »

Just got back from a socially responsible distancing visit to Andy Robinson Race cars.

https://www.facebook.com/RobinsonRaceCarsUK/

Andy kindly re-tagged all my Safety equipment, thus allowing me to participate in "Permitted" events with the Challenger "Damage Case" once the track opens up again.

Really good to see Luke Robinson there too!

What a fantastic family, and so passionate about all forms of racing.

Andy was a complete gentleman, and so helpful and entertaining!

Can't recommend them highly enough.

I guess a bit of each of the above Pete .....i have been distracted by life Pete about three years ago my father was diagnosed with dementia and that took up a lot of my time and then the wife and i decided to build almost a new house ..which is not really that smart thing to do when you are our age ... then there was motorbikes ,well there was always them but i have thinned out the herd and seem to have that fetish all under control ...So the car has come on top of the list ...Plan is to build it sensibly ,,that always makes me laugh when i say that ....but we are building it Pete make no mistake this time ,,,, parts are coming, Luke is primed,, not sure which way it will go yet so stay tuned mate

Excellent news Pete.

I am fully aware of the distractions - we are 11 years into a 5 year Restoration on the Listed Thatched cottage...

Motor is now pretty much back together again after full tear down and re-fresh.

Re-ringed and Honed, new Main and Big End Bearings, new "PAC" Springs, Retainers, and Keepers ("Installed Heights" done by Hauser Racing).
They should compliment the 7/16" "Trend" Tapered Pushrods.
New "Cometic" Head Gaskets - hours spent clearancing them for the big diameter Push Rods.

Re-timed the cam (within limits) so it will be interesting to see the difference in performance (if any).

Back to a Tunnel Ram, as I did not like the poor fuel distribution and poor low speed drive-ability of the "RBRE" 4 Bbl inlet.
2 x 850 DP Carbs with 50cc secondary pumps.

Transmission is being refreshed and then good to go - at some point......

Massive thanks to Blue for refreshing (and upgrading) my Transmission, and then coming up to help me install the trans and engine back into what in reality is a very big engine bay...

A bit of lard rubbed on the Rocker Boxes and in it went - ooohhhh err!!!!

Thanks once again!!!
