C body parts

Post by Blue »

Can any of you C body preverts identify these parts found loose in a ‘66 Fury trunk? They are heavy gauge steel so I assume they are needed…

could be anything
but look like they belong under the car
and the thing you would protect in my opinion would be a fuel tank on a police car maybe, bullets, blow-outs and curbs
or is my head just being turned by the pressing shapes
holes for chassis rails at the tow bar or nudge bar bolts (front end seems unlikley???)_, or at the tanks straps?

part of a police package????

excuse to watch the blues brothers again :) pleanty of big cars upside down

A bodies have those plastic keep the wheel well dirt off the steering, type things on the front chassis rails but these are too big for that

obvioulsy just a guess

Are there any holes under the car with the same spacing as the ones on those parts?

I'm assuming that's underseal on them Blue? I went through my old 66 Fury from front to back and didn't come across anything I remember looking like that. Does the underseal match the underseal on the car they were found in as they could be off something else if its a different colour or texture?? I will forward the pic to my pal who has the car now and see if he recognises them....

Looking again they maybe something to do with the rearmost section of the trunk floorpan as that curve is similar and the pressed strengthening sections. I cut the whole trunk floor, inner drops and outer lower rear fenders out and made new ones as it was all quite rusty so have no reference pics unfortunately. It's that curve and the underseal thats making me think trunk area. My pal in Canada is into Cbodies, will ask him too...
