C Body Bumper Guards

Post by Steve »

OK, someone far more influential and respected than me in this club has just confirmed that this may, just may be the stupidest question that has ever been asked on a Muscle Car Forum. If I am to guess who I will get a sensible answer or lead from, it will be Dave999 and who I will get the pish ripped out of me by is Mr Runner..... here goes.....

I recently found a lovely set of NOS bumper guards for my 68 Dodge Polara sedan in Carson City, Nevada. Believe it or not, the shipping and tax etc was more than they cost to buy ($80....bargain!!). Inside the pack that came with them is a drilling guide for mounting the front ones. Unfortunately, the rear guide sheet is missing. Does anyone have access to the measurements or better still, a copy of the relevant rear sheet that I can use for drilling the rear bumper holes please? I obviously only get one shot at it so wont be doing it until I am 100% sure I have it right!

Cheers Steve :thumbright:

68 parts book here

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=107 page 23-286 has pictures of a monaco i'd guess polara in there somewhere as well.

68 accessories book here
http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=107

picture page 20 you'd have to measure by and work out by scale from both

other options

keep looking on ebay for people who take photos of instructions as well
email rick ehrenberg at mopar action to see if he has a blue print
measure off another similar car

i don't know how close 67 and 69 cars are to yours

Thanks Dave...tons to trawl through there! Cheers. I have emailed several sellers on Ebay US to ask if they would mind photographing the sheet in the hardware packaging for me. One says he will look today but not holding my breath! My Polara has a twin!!!!! :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:
