With a slight break in the weather, I managed to get out and spend an hour or so on the Plymouth, ticking off the jobs ready for the 360 to go in around Easter.
I had to replace the Pitman arm and removing it was a job I was dreading, but it actually went reasonably well. However, I discovered that the previous owner had munged the nut on, and has damaged the thread.
Anyone know what the thread is on the the output shaft (power steering box?) I want to try and get a die to try and clean it up.
Thanks in advance!
Gerry

Almost fixed! Re: 66 B Body Steering Box Thread (literally!)
Thanks! Yes, nuts are easy, and over priced!
So more digging reveals it is 7/8 unf (14 tpi) if anyone ever needs to know, and I now have a die that will clean it up if you ever need one
Has anyone got a spare nut in their stash? I'm hunting for supplies over here to avoid the £20+ they want from the States, but if anyone has one it will speed up this never ending engine swap!
Thanks!
Gerry
