With everything else to do on the car, hadn’t got round to some obvious stuff like checking to trunk floor, until I had to mop it out on Sunday evening.

Two things are obvious....

1. Someone in the past had an 1 1/2” hole saw and weren’t afraid to use it, though why escapes me.
2. I’m pretty sure there’s supposed to be a plate around where the tank filler neck disappears through the floor, isn’t there? :-k

Blanking grommets on order as a temporary fix, but anyone able to share a picture of what the filler neck plate should look like, if indeed there is one? I’m clearly not using the right terminology on Google searches.

Ta.

holes

in my mind only reason for cutting holes in the back end of a car is to perhaps fit a non standard tow bar. Mopar bars, and bolt head access is ok
home made or aftermarket a nice hole to stick your socket extension through might be necessary.

did it ever have LPG fitted?

Mind they could just be for playing pee-po you never know.

Clean the area up then cut some circles of thin ally sheet and glue them on from the top with Tigerseal. Thats a perfectly acceptable solution and it will keep spray from the tyres out of the boot.
