I'm talking about Hughes the engine outfit, I don't think the converter firm are the same company?

Not the same company.

Mind you my mate Eddie Nasser didn't get far with Hughes Engines. I don't think they liked the surname.....

Actually I just heard back from them last night and opened dialogue with me.

Watch this space as I try to cancel my Summit Order as it will not ship until the 3rd June. 8-[

Hughes 220/224 duration @ 0.050 cam with 0.503/0.518 lift is probably my best choice for what I am doing.

So I will see what I can sort out.

It might just be 'ol Dave running the show at the moment, I've heard a few smaller firms over there are struggling on single handed.

His sons used to be OK. It's just Dave that is the grumpy old republican fart.

Anyway. Great service once they got going. Parts are due to arrive by the end of the week. My order was handled by someone called "Tim".

So far I have only ported one intake on the heads. I am getting very lazy in my old age.
Doesn't seem to be much of a hurry though......

I assume you bought a cam kit with lifters, timing set and springs?

The timing set on the block is pretty new so keeping that. Yes on the lifters and springs.

Also be wary of hydraulic lifters these days Dave. I bought a Comp cam .510 lift kit and the lifters supplied were not up to the job. It took me ages and a lot of money before sussing it out and putting it right. They wouldn't rev past 5000rpm
