Electronic Dash Voltage Regulator - where from?

Post by deppmobile »

My Googling is failing me.....

I need to replace my dash voltage regulator, but can't track down the electronic version. Any links?

Thanks!

I converted my own - it was popular before people sold them already done!!! Actually not very difficult, depending on your year and model

I'm sure there was a post on here a while back about making your own up with parts from now defunct Maplins?

this looks about right although checking out a few is sensible to check the pin outs can be matched to your board

fixed 5v output voltage regulator needs to be able to do a good few amps and needs to have a max input north of 15 volts

This one
up to 20 volts in
5 volts out

3 pin
VIN
V OUT
GND

mounting tab is VOUT as well...beware

obviously they last longer if a heat sink is added
beware the heat sink/mounting tab could be ground or output voltage check how it mounts and insulate if necessary based on your chosen one
