MSD 8388 Distributor wiring

Post by Bratfink »

Hi all,

Does anyone have an actual wiring diag for an MSD 8388?

It’s supposed to be direct replacement for the stock dizzy, but the destructions don’t show anything relating to the stock Mopar electronic ignition module and ballast resistor.
I am coming to believe a 56mph speed record is harder to achieve than a 400mph one!

You don't use any of the stock electronic system if the car has it, it's really for replacing a points system or an engine swap solution.

I think this is the one I run - no ballast, no mopar ECU. It runs 12v all the time so just get rid of them.
Its just 12v in (via electronic voltage reg) and thats it. The electronic gizmos are all in the dizzy (HEI module I think).
