my old engine
This 440 came in the Savoy and was pulled four years a go and has stood gathering dust and was a shelve for a few years ..Today I dug into the bottom end and I was pleasantly surprised ...the crank counterweights have been stamped with m1 which I think means odd size bearings ...The old pan has been cut and redone but is bashed up to much to go again ...Half inch pick up but sadly stock main cap bolts so that will be an upgrade to studs ,,cam is a hydraulic 509 so that will be an upgrade but not sure how much space I will have with the 915 heads and six pac pistons so it might be just a change to a 509 mech cam ... …..other than that new set of bearings and a cam change she should be good to go ….

Re: my old engine
Looks like that could be a cheap rebuild. 509 cam will easily fit with six pack pistons, 590 mechanical cam is the biggest I’ve ever tried to fit with that combo and it fits with room to spare.

I can see that’s a fair bit below zero deck, that’s going to be fine I reckon...
