Gates Water pump

Post by Stu »

Anyone fitted one of these?

Found it whilst clearing out some parts, didn’t realise we had it, so checked back through old receipts and found it was bought some years ago by my brother and never fitted. That makes me wonder why it was never fitted so thinking he may have decided against it for a specific reason.

Any horror stories or reasons I shouldn’t?

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Still interested in any reviews / feedback before I decide to fit this, if anyone has used them. :read2:

Personally I've just used whatever make I could get, normally something obscure! Gates is a long established company, I doubt it is no better or worse than any other make, probably all come from the same factory in China anyway..

Can’t hurt to fit it then, I guess. 8-)

Well, I’ve just bought one for my 273 this morning from Topspeed. As Blue says, it’s what’s available.

I suppose I was just suspicious that it was new but never fitted.

Will get that done at some point when I’ve finished sorting other gremlins. It’s been a bit of a slog for the past 18 months trying to get it all done, but nearly there now.
